FAQ'S

Let Us Put Your Mind At Ease

We know that when it comes to choosing someone to help you with your biggest investment, your home, there can be lots of concerns.

  • What company shall I hire?

  • What experience do they have?

  • What is their reputation?

  • Are they reliable?

  • Do they do quality workmanship?

  • Do they stay on my job the whole time?

  • Do they have several jobs at the same time?

  • Will the quote be accurate or will it cost me a whole lot more?

  • Will there be a “bait and switch”?

  • Will I be getting what I am paying for?

At Maurer Construction we pride ourselves on educating our customer not only on the workmanship they will receive but also on what it takes to get their vision completed,  If you don't have your own vision, we can guide you there too.  We offer accurate detailed proposals, not underestimated bids.  We know that quality matters to you as much as pricing, so we provide a service that's second to none.  Maurer construction continues to be a referral based business and we pride ourselves on leaving our customers very satisfied.

Can I Save Money By Running the Job Or Ordering Everything Myself?

Saving money is an important aspect in every area of your life and we respect that. Sometimes it may seem like a good idea to run your own project  but the truth is that coordinating any construction job takes a great deal of time and experience to have it finish on time, run smoothly and save you money in the long run.

Without realizing it, homeowners can get overwhelmed quickly by trying to coordinate a job themselves. Ordering products and fixtures correctly, as well as organizing, scheduling and overseeing other subcontractors such as electricians, plumbers, roofers, etc take a great deal of time and skill and if not done properly can cost you a lot more money and delays than you ever expected.

You don't need any extra stress in your life and probably don't like wasting your hard earned money either. So leave the coordinating to us, relax and know we will take good care of you!

I Got a Few Estimates...
Shouldn't I Just Go With the Lowest Bid?

Excellent!  It's great to do you your homework here...

Remember to check and see if the estimates are quoting the same things and the quality of the materials are the same.  Many times the bids are not "apples to apples"...Sometimes some estimates leave out important information so that the price appears lower but after the start of the job the pricing "magically" increases.  Yes, there are sometimes unforeseen issues or you may wish to add things that may increase the price but a "real" quote will help you know what the price is from start to finish without leaving you surprised and very disappointed.

(We can help you determine if another quote includes everything that we included in ours and if it does we will be happy to say so.  We want the best for you even if we don't get the job!)

What if The Price is More Than I wanted to Spend...Is There Anything We Can Do?

Yes of course!

If the cost of your job is initially out of your budget we can explore different  materials that will give you the same look and feel. Or we can help you determine which projects are the best ones to start with and which ones can be done at a later date.

Sometimes the cost of projects are different than imagined for many reasons (such as; you may have no experience in doing a big project before or home improvement tv shows or internet sites that are great but don't reflect realistic pricing in our area, or even low ball pricing from another company)

We can always help you figure out how to be happy and stay on budget

What About Extras?

When we put together your quote we will include every material and charge needed to complete your project. It will all be in writing for you.  During the course of a job you may decide to add in different things that were not on the original estimate that would be considered an extra charge.  We do our best in anticipating everything you need to complete your job but sometimes we may uncover unseen and unexpected problems in the home that would need to be resolved before completing your project, that would be an additional charge.  Any "extra" will be authorized by you before any extra work done or charges are incurred..
